More ‘Mozart’ & ‘Oaks’

Red Oaks and Mozart in the Jungle have been renewed for their third and fourth seasons respectively on Amazon Prime. Unlike Mozart, however, Red Oaks will not live to see a fourth season as Amazon also announced the end of the series following the latest episodes. Both Mozart in the Jungle and Red Oaks are set to return later this year.

Mozart in the Jungle, which broke new ground for streaming originals with several Golden Globe Awards last year, is based on Blair Tindall’s memoir, Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs & Classical Music. The series follows the “mind games, politicking and survival instincts” of members of the fictitious New York Symphony, led by its charismatic and quirky conductor, Gael Garcia Bernal, who won the Globe for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy Series. The cast includes Malcolm McDowell, Bernadette Peters, Lola Kirke, Saffron Burrows, Hannah Dunne and Jason Schwartzman. To learn more, visit www.amazon.com/mozartinthejungle.

Set in the 1980s, Red Oaks explores “the comic misadventures of the misfit staffers and clueless members” of a country club in suburban New Jersey. It stars Craig Roberts as aspiring young filmmaker David Meyers who meets colorful characters “on his journey to adulthood.”  Those characters are played by Paul Reiser, Richard Kind, Jennifer Grey, Alexandra Socha, Oliver Cooper, Ennis Esmer, Gina Gershon and Alexandra Turschen. Amazon Prime subscribers can watch past seasons of both series now at PrimeVideo.com and via the Prime Video app for iOS, Android, smart TVs, Fire TV and Fire tablets. Non-members can join Amazon Prime for $10.99 a month or $99 annually by visiting www.amazon.com/prime.
