4K Goes Berzerk

4KUniverse, which offers a subscription streaming service containing 4k Ultra HD content, has signed a deal to run several Cirque Berzerk shows this year.

The combo circus/alternative theater troupe promises “a whole new cast of characters for 4KUniverse viewers, from exotic feathered bird girls to glam rock-inspired looks…”

“Our character’s movement, detailed make-up and costume design lends itself perfectly to the crystal-clear 4K video format,” said producer Suzanne Down. “The 4K format will allow you to run away and join the circus!”

4KUniverse, which launched last March, is available for $5.99/month via Roku, YouTube and Vimeo, with apps for the following devices to be added this year: Amazon FireTV, Xbox One S, PS4 Pro, Samsung 4K TVs, Sony 4K TVs, and Google Chromcast Ultra.

The service has also launched a linear channel, which it hopes will be carried by pay TV operators. Check out its sample schedule for an idea of 4KUniverse programming. In addition to Cirque Berzerk, original programming on both the linear and SVOD channels includes AVP Pro Beach Volleyball content and Model Turned Superstar, a reality series consisting of 18 half-hour episodes.
