Famous Flapper Jan 27

Z: The Beginning of Everything, a fictionalized biographical series about legendary American flapper Zelda Fitzgerald, premieres its first season this Friday, January 27, on Amazon Prime.

The half-hour pilot, which debuted November 3, introduced Zelda Sayre (Christina Ricci), at the moment of her fateful encounter with then unknown author F. Scott Fitzgerald (Gavin Stenhouse) in Montgomery, Alabama in 1918. Episodes two to 10 will follow the globe-hopping couple through their well-documented love affair and marriage, marked by alcoholism, adultery and the “mental illness that leads to Zelda’s tragic, untimely end.”

Amazon describes Z as “a modern take on one of the most notorious love stories of all time.” The series also stars David Strathairn as Anthony Dickson Sayre, Zelda’s father and Alabama State Supreme Court Justice.
