‘Holiday Inn’ to Stream Live

Six months after She Loves Me became the first-ever Broadway show to stream live, BroadwayHD will team again with the Roundabout Theatre Company to present Holiday Inn on Saturday, January 14, at 8 pm ET. The show will close its doors the next night, concluding a limited run that began in October at New York’s Studio 54.

Featuring music and lyrics by Irving Berlin, the musical is inspired by the 1942 Bing Crosby-Fred Astaire film Holiday Inn, which introduced the Christmas standard “White Christmas.” Other songs in the Broadway version include “Easter Parade,” “Heat Wave” and “Cheek to Cheek.”

Unlike She Loves Me, for which BroadwayHD offered a one-time streaming pass for $9.99, Holiday Inn will only be available to Broadway HD subscribers – but you can subscribe for just $14.99 a month (or $166.99 annually). In addition to She Loves Me, subscribers can choose from a library of over 160 on-demand theatrical titles.

BroadwayHD is available on BroadwayHD.com, Chromecast, Roku, Apple TV, iPad and iPhone.

And, in the spirit of the season, here’s the 1942 wartime introduction of the best-selling single record of all time, “White Christmas,” from the original movie:

You can stream the entire Holiday Inn movie for $2.99 ($3.99 HD) at iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, YouTube and other online sources. Visit Guidebox for links and more.
