Amazon Adds HBO, Cinemax

Amazon Prime subscribers can now stream HBO and Cinemax for additional monthly fees of $14.99 and $9.99 respectively.

Following an earlier pickup by PlayStation Vue, the Amazon deal marks the second way to watch HBO and Cinemax’s 24-hour linear channels outside of traditional cable, satellite or telco pay TV bundles.

Amazon Prime members can sign up for HBO and Cinemax through Amazon Channels, which has already offered competing services Showtime and Starz at the lower price of $8.99/month each.

Amazon Prime itself costs $10.99/month. For more information, visit www.amazon.com/prime.
