Urban Movie Channel’s App

Urban Movie Channel (UMC), a subscription streaming service for African American and urban audiences, has introduced an iOS app downloadable from iTunes.

UMC, which costs $6.99 per month, offers feature films, documentaries, stand-up comedy, original series, and other exclusive content. Recently added programming includes Gary Owen’s stand-up special, I Agree with Myself, as well as performances by The Daily Show host Trevor Noah and comedian Kevin Hart; the comedy Lucky Number starring Method Man; dramas Knucklehead with Alfre Woodard and Gbenga Akinnagbe, and Second Coming with Idris Elba and Nadine Marshall; as well as thrillers and documentaries.

UMC also offers stage play productions, including the premiere of David E. Talbert’s Another Man Will on December 9.

The service was created by Robert L. Johnson, Chairman of RLJ Entertainment and founder of Black Entertainment Television (BET).

In addition to the iOS app, you can watch UMC at urbanmoviechannel.com, on Roku, as an Amazon Prime add-on subscription, and through Amazon Fire TV and Amazon Fire Stick, with Apple TV access planned for early 2017.
