Meet the ‘Professor of Rock’

Not to be confused with the Jack Black comedy School of Rock, Professor of Rock is a new series offered exclusively on Vudu’s new free service that aspires to provide “the definitive visual history of pop music and compelling stories behind hundreds of the most important songs and albums from the 1950s to the present day, straight from the artist’s mouth.”

Featuring both musician interviews and expert commentary, Professor of Rock covers a broad pop music landscape that includes The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Prince, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Carlos Santana, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Journey, Heart, the Byrds, the Animals, Jane’s Addiction, Van Halen, Smashing Pumpkins, Toto, Panic! At the Disco, and Train, among others.

The series is hosted by Adam Reader, who is said to have been dubbed ‘The Professor of Rock’ by The Beach Boys and is described as “a passionate super fan with an encyclopedia-like knowledge of popular music.”
