‘Canelo-Smith’ Streams Sept.17

Former two-division world champion Canelo Alvarez takes on the WBO junior middleweight world champion Liam “Beefy” Smith at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium Saturday, September 17, at 9 pm ET.

Fight fans can watch the 12-round showdown via live streaming from Goldenboyppv, a new pay-per-view site owned by former professional boxing champion and Olympic gold medalist Oscar De La Hoya, aka “The Golden Boy.” You can pre-order the fight for $64.99 at Goldenboyppv. The fight can also be purchased from HBO Pay-Per-View.

“Our premium platform is designed with the boxing fan in mind and will provide fans a deep immersive pre-fight video experience featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes programming from training camp throughout fight week,” said La Hoya, chairman and CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, which is promoting the Canelo-Smith fight in association with Frank Warren and Canelo Promotions.

The September 17 fight card will also include:

  • “King” Gabriel Rosado and Willie Monroe Jr., who are fighting 10 rounds for the vacant WBO intercontinental middleweight title
  • A 10-round NABF featherweight title match between Joseph “Jojo” Diaz Jr. and Andrew “El Chango” Cancio
  • Diego De La Hoya, a cousin of Oscar De La Hoya according to Wikipedia, defending his WBC youth super bantamweight title over 10 rounds against the Luis Orlando Del Valle.
