‘Insult’ on the Campaign Trail

Insults have been flying fast and furious during this year’s presidential campaign. One was even worthy of an Emmy nomination.

Triumph the Insult Comic Dog hosts a new one-hour special called Triumph’s Summer Election Special 2016. It is now available for streaming by subscribers on Hulu, which produced the show with Funny or Die, the comedy website and production company.

Subverting the contrived pageantry of the Democratic and Republican nominating conventions, the show is a sequel to the Emmy-nominated (for writing) Triumph: The Primary Election Special 2016, in which the foul-mouthed, cigar-chomping hand-puppet pestered candidates and party stalwarts with ribald questions and comments. The new special was created and executive produced by Robert Smigel, the voice behind Triumph. Smigel is also known for his hysterically warped SNL TV Funhouse cartoons. Conan O’Brien, on whose NBC and TBS late night shows Triumph has been a mainstay for many years, is also listed as an executive producer.

You must subscribe to Hulu to view Triumph’s Summer Election Special 2016.

You can, however, watch Triumph: The Primary Election Special 2016 for free below:
