‘Storyville’ Heads to TBS Digital

TBS has ordered 10 episodes of Storyville for its “digital and social platforms.” The short-from animated series features celebrities telling “funny, absurd, weird, and sometimes just sheer joyful“ real-life stories. Two episodes, which already have hundreds of thousands of YouTube views, feature Questlove telling tales of Patti Labelle and Prince:

Storyville is produced by urban culture content provider Mass Appeal in partnership with Okayplayer, an urban music site co-founded by Questlove. Mass Appeal, which previously signed a development deal with TBS and sister channel TNT, is also working on Think B.I.G., a scripted animated series ”loosely based” on the lyrics of Notorious B.I.G. The show will chronicle “the misadventures of an inner-city teen desperately trying to create a better future for his daughter and infant son.” Expected premiere date on TBS cable was not revealed.
