Cult Japanese superhero vs. monster series Ultraman is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its first airing this month, so free ad-supported site Shout Factory TV will show 12 of the series’ 39 half-hour episodes this Sunday, July 31, starting at 3 pm ET. The episodes were selected and will be hosted by August Ragone, an expert in “tokusatsu,” which is defined by Wikipedia as “any live-action film or television drama that features considerable use of special effects.”

You can also watch all 39 Ultraman episodes for free on Hulu, but without Ragone’s insights. Here’s episode one:

In addition to watching the Ultraman marathon at shoutfactorytv.com, you can also access it on Pluto TV’s channel 515. PlutoTV, which TechHive a year ago declared “the best cord-cutting app you’re not using,” offers over 100 free channels – see list here – via smartphones, connected TV devices and smart TVs, as well as online. imgres
