UltraFlix Expands 4K HD to Roku 2 and 3


NanoTech Entertainment’s UltraFlix service is now is now offering its 4K HD roster of movies, documentaries, TV shows, concerts and sports to Roku 2 and Roku 3 owners.

UltraFlix says it has 600 hours of on demand content, plus another 100 hours of free content, but no names of titles in its library are provided on its web site. To get a list of content, you’d have to download the UltraFlix app to your Roku 2 and Roku 3 devices, or to one of the previously supported platforms: Android TV with 4K Support; Sony Android TV models; NVIDIA Shield; Roku 4 (4K model); Vizio – M Series, P Series, Reference Series; Samsung Tizen; Apple TV; Hisense (4K UltraHD Models); Google Play Store.


With UltraFlix, NanoTech is betting that 4K HD will be the TV standard of the future. Its press release announcing the Roku expansion even features a quote from David Watkins, service director for connected home devices at Strategy Analytics: “Ultra HD will become the standard resolution for virtually all large screen TVs within 3 to 4 years’ time.”
