King of the Monsters

Godzilla is hot (and not only because of whatever’s coming out of the giant monster’s mouth in the picture above).

Two examples:

  • Netflix has acquired worldwide streaming rights to an anime feature, titled simply Godzilla, which will premiere theatrically in Japan later this year;

But how can you satisfy your Godzilla cravings right now? Well, the scaly creature has quite a filmography, having appeared in in dozens of films since 1954. Here are some highlights for streaming:

  • Watch the 2014 Godzilla for just $1.99 SD/$2.99 HD from FandangoNow.

  • Watch a bunch of classic Godzilla films for free at Shout Factory TV, including Godzilla Raids Again (1955), Godzilla vs. the Thing (1964) (aka Mothra vs. Godzilla), and both the Japanese and American versions of the 1954 film that started the franchise. Here’s an original trailer for the US version, titled Godzilla, King of the Monsters:

‘Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah’ fight scene:

  • Finally, Godzilla has even battled King Kong before – such as in King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962). Nobody’s streaming this now, but here’s John Landis to tell us about this “really silly” film:
