Vote: Fine Cut Shorts

Now through March 16, you can stream and vote for your favorite short films in non-commercial LinkTV’s 17th annual Fine Cut, a collection of 74 films in nine categories. The winner of this “Viewer’s Choice Award,” along with winners of in the “Emerging Filmmaker” and “Student Filmmaker” categories, will be featured on Link TV and also included in the American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

The Outcast (drama; student filmmaker Bucher Almzain)

“After escaping a war-torn country, a young woman is left alone when her husband is denied entry to the US.”

Between Seconds (romance; filmmaker Nora Jaenicke)

“The story of two musicians who have grown out of sync with their music and ultimately themselves.”

From the Depths (experimental; filmmaker Arturo Pons)

“The moment when a couple finds out that their relation reaches rock bottom.”

Scraps (animation; student filmmaker Dor Cohen)

“A starving rat who lives in a scrapyard builds a rocket ship with hopes it will fly him to the moon, which he thinks is made out of cheese.”

Meticulous (action; student filmmaker Samantha Chalmers)

“A trained assassin narrates a typical day in his life.”

You can watch Link TV nationwide on Roku, Apple TV, over-the-air in Los Angeles on channel 28.2, or via DirectTV and Dish Network.
