‘Scent’ from Serbia

Tomorrow, March 7, subscription streaming service MHz Choice will premiere The Scent of Rain in the Balkans, heralded as the first Serbian TV series ever released in the US.

Two new 40-minute episodes of the 14-part series will be released every Tuesday through April 18.

The Scent of Rain in the Balkans, presented with English subtitles, follows six Sephardic Jewish siblings living in Bosnia from 1914 through 1945 as they cope with two world wars that bring “cultural change, political upheaval and the threat of extermination.” First telecast in Serbia in 2010-2011, the epic series is based on a bestselling 1986 novel by Gordana Kuić.

For $7.99 per month, MHz Choice offers web, smartphone, iPhone/iPad, Apple TV, RokuChromecast and Amazon Prime users more than 2,000 hours of subtitled mysteries, dramas and comedies from around the world. For more information, or to subscribe, visit www.mhzchoice.com.
